Brotherhood

Brotherhood:  the belief that all people should act with warmth and equality toward one another, regardless of differences in race, creed, nationality, etc.  Synonyms are fellowship, community, alliance, sisterhood (www.dictionary.com).

Norvel and Hayley Williams had been married less than a month when they joined a small marriage group we were facilitating in Suffolk, Virginia nearly six years ago.  Over the last six years we have shared our vision of ministry with them, and they have supported us with their time, talents, and energy.  We have watched them take the leadership lessons they learned in ministry to start a family business that has helped them prosper in many aspects of their lives.  We have shared family traditions, vacations, joys, sorrows, and through it all, it has brought us a unique family relationship, one that we will continue to cherish for years.  David and Norvel are the true meaning of brotherhood — brought together by Christ’s love.

Hayley is the definition of sisterhood — for we can pick up right where we left off, whether it has been a day, a month, or several months since we last shared our hearts with one another.

God in His Sovereignty has chosen our marriages to model Christ’s love for His church.  He uses our lives to model unconditional love and acceptance.  Today we say “Thank you God” for blessing us so abundantly!
