Las Vegas. Loud. Chaotic. Apathetic. Money-driven. Entertaining. Exciting. Lustful. Boundary-less. Unclean. Messy. Confusing. Man-made.
Sedona. Restful. Relaxing. Excellent. Beautiful. Passionate. Peaceful. Quiet. Harmonious. God’s beauty. Friendly. Nature. Refreshing. Majestic. Relational. God-made.
This has been our experience this week. While we had a good time in Las Vegas and enjoyed the shows, the service, the excitement, it was at Sedona that our souls found rest. I have truly experienced the verse, “Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10
This reminds me of the contrast we see as marriage coaches between a poor relationship and a good relationship. Poor relationships are full of chaos, confusion, disillusionment, disharmony, and conflict. They are driven by self.
Good relationships, on the other hand, are passionate, loving, kind, other-centered, and God driven.
Our job as marriage/relationship coaches is to help couples achieve “Sedona” in their hearts.
